Top Five Restaurants In The World

Getting a taste of local cuisine is one of the best parts of travelling, but it’s not always easy to find the right combination of authentic flavor and exceptional service. To be truly remarkable, there must be an irresistible taste of home amongst the flare of fine dining. We want you to experience that special combination with a visit to one of the world’s top five restaurants.

5. Girona, Spain: El Celler de Can Roca

Though it squeezes in at number five on our list, El Celler de Can Roca is no stranger to the winner’s circle. Located in the Catalonian city Girona, the restaurant’s appeal comes from it being a family business—El Celler was founded by three brothers to create an establishment that is as welcoming as it is unique. Their menu hosts traditional Catalan cuisine with creative spins that were inspired by the brothers’ travels to places such as Mexico and Singapore. Between this and their incomparable wine collection, El Celler de Can Roca promises an unforgettable dining experience.

4. Modena, Italy: Osteria Francescana

In addition to its three-star Michelin rating, Osteria Francescana has earned its renown by being the first Italian establishment to win the title of world’s best restaurant. Head chef Massimo Bottura found the inspiration for his menu in childhood experiences and the traditional flavors of his hometown, Modena. The inspiration that Bottura gained from the world around him has translated into a vibrant, diverse menu that exemplifies the warmth and hospitality of Italy.

3. Copenhagen, Denmark: Noma

Located in Copenhagen, Noma is no stranger to renown and accolades. Before moving and reopening their doors in 2018, they spent four years in the top spot for the world’s best restaurant. One of Noma’s greatest features is that the restaurant is fully sustainable. They have three different menus to match the change in seasons and availability of local produce. This makes them a prime choice for those who are environmentally conscious.

Nestled among the scenic foothills of the Basque Country, Asador Etxebarri has been firing up the grill for over 30 years. The Spanish restaurant was created by head chef Victor Arguinzoniz, who grew up in the region. In addition to eliciting exotic flavors from simple local ingredients, Arguinzoniz is renowned for his grilling prowess. Homemade chorizo and fresh Palamos prawns have made Asador Etxebarri a worldwide hit and a close runner-up in our list of best restaurants.
