Wildlife Exploitation Scandal Rocks Wildlife Tourism

While enjoying yourself on your wildlife tour is of paramount importance, recent years have seen a marked increase in wildlife tour companies exploiting wildlife for their own benefit, based on a report from World Animal Protection, an animal welfare advocacy organization. In 2023, the organization commissioned a study from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. Certain tour companies were pinpointed as "selling harmful exploitative wildlife experiences across a wide range of wild animal species". In one instance, interactions with a chained animal were offered on a tour in Thailand.
