When you think of airports do you think of long lines, security checks, and overpriced food? Well, that's probably because you've never been to one of the airports listed here and experienced amenities and features so amazing it will make it hard to leave the airport and have you longing for an even longer layover?

At Singapore's Changi Airport—or more accurately, atop Singapore's Changi Airport—sits a rooftop pool and Jacuzzi that you can access for just $13. Although, if you're staying at the Ambassador Transit Hotel, you can access it for free.

Helper Robots

We were always told that robots would replace people one day. Well, it would appear that that day is today—at least at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in China where a fleet of robots roam the terminal, available to help travelers with flight information, directions, and more (note: they speak Chinese and English).

The Largest Waterfall

Singapore’s Changi Airport doesn't just feature an indoor waterfall, it features the largest indoor waterfall on the planet. But it isn't just the 130-foot waterfall that will awe you—there's also the jungle, greenery, and gardens all around it.

The "Jewel", as it's called, is more accurately described as a rain vortex and is the connecting tissue of an amazing 1.4 million-square-foot radius of multiple terminals—with shops, a movie theatre, and a hotel.

Terminal 2 at San Francisco International Airport has a 150-square-foot yoga room you can use to get your stretch on. And if you just need a place for quiet introspection you can get your meditation on in the reflection room.

30,000-Gallon Aquarium

30,000-gallons of water and 5,000 ocean creatures await those passing through the domestic terminal at Vancouver International Airport. There's also a separate tank just for jellyfish as well as a creek that runs through the terminal.

Beer Garden

Germany is famous for its beer—and at the Airbräu in the Munich International Airport, folks can sample many of the country's best foamy offerings. From October to May, the tavern also opens up the largest roofed beer garden in Europe and, for a little fee, you can take a tour of the on-site brewery before your flight.

The Munich International Airport doesn't just have a clinic and pharmacy (which it does)—there are also internal medicine, dentistry, dermatology, ophthalmology, and travel medicine services available.

Bathhouse With A View

At the Chubu Centrair International Airport in Japan, they also have an observation deck where you can watch the planes take off and land—but maybe even more fun is the bathhouse. Here, you can take a soak while you watch the planes coming and going (and see the sunset over the bay if you're there at the right time).

The city of New York spent years renovating the John F Kennedy International Airport, and one of the new features they added was the TWA Hotel. It opened back in 2019 and is the only on-site hotel at the airport. And it isn't just any run-of-the-mill hotel either. The hotel was built in an out-of-commission terminal that used to house Trans World Airlines—and the vintage vibe and design features will take you back to when flying was a truly special event.
